Katharine McPhee in Donna Karan | NBC’s “Smash” NYC Premiere

The 27-year-old actress wore a gorgeous tea-length cocktail dress from the Pre-Fall 2012 collection by Donna Karan.
I love the color-blocking of this design; a v-neck wrapped sleeveless silk satin white bodice with a glamorous full black skirt that’s pulled together with such an eye-catching and ultra-feminine navy blue oversize bow.
How can you put this on and not feel like you just stepped on the carpet at a 1950′s Hollywood movie premiere?
I would have liked to have seen her let that bow stand out in some photos — her arms are kind of laying on it.
Katharine was smart not to change much about this; she stuck to classic pointed toe black pumps and stunning diamond and sapphire drop earrings that matched her bracelets.
The only thing I would change about this look would be her hair. It’s not bad, but I would have preferred something along the lines of her Golden Globes coif or perhaps a nice up-do.
