Fashion Forecast – Anne Hathaway: Here comes the bride, but what will she wear?

Fashion Forecast - Anne Hathaway: Here comes the bride, but what will she wear?

Anne Hathaway has worked her way into our movie-loving hearts by starring as the leading lady in some of our favorite comedies, romance flicks, and even a few dramas. Her break-out role came in the form of playing a modern day princess in the 2001 Disney film “The Princess Diaries” at the age of 19, followed by a sequel in 2004. It’s been a decade since she donned the tiara and glided in a ballgown in a silver screen fantasy, and now the 29-year-old actress is getting her real-life ‘fairy tale ending’ after becoming engaged to her longtime beau Adam Shulman late last year.

Real life royal weddings are so 2011 — it’s time to count down to the big royal wedding from our favorite faux-princess! | continue reading..

Everyone is always waiting on the next “it” bags, and this year I think you can add “The Dolce” by Dolce & Gabbana to the exclusive list!

The sexy rounded shape of the trunk with a classic handle attached by a fun chain detail makes this Spring/Summer 2012 bag an eye-catching staple for every outfit. It doesn’t hurt that you can choose from a variety of styles including: classic leather, metallic, and woven looks made using crocodile, python, straw, calfskin leather, ayers, washed sheep, and printed pony fabric!

I love the cool gold padlock at the closure!

“The Dolce” is available in rich shades of red and black; brights like kelly green, gold, and blue, and spring pastels of icy blue, pale pink, and a light lime. | continue reading..

Appealing Trends: The Stars ‘Wrap Up’ in Printed Scarves by Theodora & Callum!

Appealing Trends: The Stars 'Wrap Up' in Theodora & Callum!
I’m a scarf addict.

It doesn’t matter which season it is;  if it’s raining, snowing, or burning up outside — I incorporate a scarf into my wardrobe as much as possible. I’ll take them in a variety of styles; eternity, wool, ikat printed, metallic, and animal print… I love them all!

The first step is admitting it. In fact, I think it may be inherited. I’ve yet to see my own mother sans-scarf for the past two years.

I’ve forgotten what her neck looks like. | continue reading..

It may not always be agreed upon that Michelle Obama wore the best dress, but I think everyone can appreciate her love of design, print, and color. Not since Jackie O. has a First Lady inspired so many with fashion and flare. Where Jackie brought the classic lady-like cuts and accessories, Michelle is rocking serious prints, bold embellishments, fun shapes, and vibrant colors.

The First Lady of the US was consistent all year of putting her most fashionable foot forward when it came to getting ready for several press conferences, royal dinners, galas, and even traveling. She was never afraid to wear a mixture of striking colors, textures, and bold accessories from head-to-toe by some of the hottest designers!

Michelle’s recently been seen in fierce creations by Vera Wang, Michael Kors, Ralph Lauren, Tom Ford, Cushnie et Ochs, and Alexander McQueen. But, she even rocks Converse and paint-splattered jeans in style! | continue reading..

2011 Style Verdicts: Hot Trend – Brian Atwood Footwear

2011 Style Verdicts: Hot Trend - Brian Atwood FootwearIt was all about Brian Atwood shoes in 2011! Whether worn for a cocktail night out, casually — and of course — the red carpet, Atwood’s designs were a go-to for Hollywood’s hottest all year long. Aside from the now classic “Maniac” pump — which is available in a variety of colors and textures — Atwood also introduced hot pin heel, spiked, and feathered designs!

One of my favorite pairs — that I’ve yet to see on anyone — would have to be the “Fire” peep toe ankle boots from his latest Fall collection. These hot heels are appropriately titled due to the obsession-inducing black, red, and silver flames going up the back of the ankle. Someone get these on Jennifer Lawrence stat! “The Hunger Games ” star will need to rock these fiery boots on the press tour for the film where her character is dubbed “the girl on fire”. | continue reading..

2011 Style Verdicts: Best Dressed Ensemble – The Cast of “Breaking Dawn”

2011 Style Verdicts: Best Dressed Ensemble - The Cast of "Breaking Dawn"It was a big year for movies, especially two mega franchises — “Harry Potter” and “Twilight”. While the wizards concluded their story during the summer, it was the vampires who took over in the fall in the most stylish way. The cast of “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1″ hit the promotional trail in late October heavily to promote the first installment of the finale to the blockbuster hit clad in designer looks by major fashion houses such as Gucci, Givenchy, J. Mendel, Donna Karan, Alexander McQueen and Dolce & Gabbana.

While some stars stayed consistently stylish, some had a rocky road, and others really came into their own. Here are some of my favorite looks Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson, Ashley Greene, Nikki Reed, Taylor Lautner, and the rest of the vampy gang globally rocked.

These were my favorite looks from both Ashley Greene and Nikki Reed during the tour. The avant-garde black and white cutaway Donna Karan design that Ashley donned at the NYC premiere of the film was so interesting. Every angle showed off the dress in a different light — and they were all good. Nikki echoed her choice of a vibrant cutout look with an acid green halter gown by Michael Kors that was trimmed in black and cutaway at both sides of her stomach.

Both ladies accessorized brilliantly, but it was Nikki who had me boiling with a major case of ‘shoe envy’ over her caged platform Giuseppe Zanotti boots. | continue reading..

2011 Style Verdicts: Hot Trend – Candy Coated Denim

2011 Style Verdicts: Hot Trend - Candy Coated DenimOne of my favorite trends of 2011, that I hope will carry on into the new year, would definitely be colorful denim! Joe’s Jeans, J Brand, Blank Denim, Ksubi, AG Adriano Goldschmied, and Rag & Bone, were only some of the casual brands that released a wide variety of Crayola-inspired jeans and shorts.

Don’t be afraid to try it! You can instantly brighten up your basics (ie: a solid black top and matching shoes), or you can add some flare by picking a color out of your printed top and selecting a pair of jeans in the same shade. I can’t get enough of it therefore I’ve included some of my favorite looks below.

HILARY DUFF in KSUBI
Before her pregnancy announcement, Hilary Duff was spotted rocking a killer pair of cuffed marigold Ksubi skinnies. She added this massive splash of color to her white tank and matching pumps! I love how she played with different colors by opting for a blush pink Balenciaga bag and a bright red lip. | continue reading..

2011 Style Verdicts: Red Carpet Moments – The Innocent

2011 Style Verdicts: Red Carpet Moments - The InnocentEvery year there are many dresses that are beautiful, tons that are talked about, and a lot that get mixed reviews. It took a lot of nail biting to narrow down the top 15 that really stood out to me over the last year, but I think I picked some pretty ladies in beautiful gowns that got the red carpet treatment they deserved.

I’ll kick this list off with Jane Fonda in this long-sleeve Emilio Pucci ivory dress at the Cannes Film Festival back in May. Someone needs to direct me to the fountain of youth and fitness that Jane is drinking from because she looks more amazing every year. This dress was originally seen with cutout details, but Jane added some modesty by filling in the gaps with lace. It was a fabulous fitting on her and just an all-around great moment. | continue reading..

2011 Style Verdicts: Red Carpet Moments – The Guilty

2011 Style Verdicts: Red Carpet Moments - The GuiltySometimes it’s easier to pick out what I didn’t like on the red carpet rather than what I loved. It seems as though more stars commit fashion crimes than not. I think I could have made it up to fifty with the amount of unlawful styles that occurred in 2011. Here’s the final fifteen…

The pink overload that Jennifer Lopez had going on in head-to-toe Gucci at the Metropolitan Museum of Art Costume Institute Gala this year was just too much for me to look at. She’s fierce, we all know that — and she could definitely work a look from this collection — this just wasn’t her look. I appreciate that you can get away with more at this particular event than you can pretty much anywhere else, but I was really hoping for more from her. Thankfully her style was nearly flawless the rest of 2011. | continue reading..

2011 Style Verdicts: Best Dressed Blushing Brides

2011 Style Verdicts: Best Dressed Blushing Brides

2011 was a huge year of wedding bliss! Among the many stars and royals celebrating their nuptials were Reese Witherspoon, Kate Moss, Kim Kardashian, Lily Aldridge, Miranda Lambert, Lily Allen, Anja Rubik, Abbey Clancy, Sofia Coppolla, Molly Sims, Charlene Wittstock, Princess Sophie of Isenburg, and of course Kate Middleton.

It was tough to narrow it down, but I think we could all agree that Kate Middleton‘s custom designed Alexander McQueen gown by Sarah Burton was a clear winner. Millions stayed up at bizarre hours just to watch the royal nuptials between the now Duchess of Cambrige and Prince William, Duke of Cambridge. | continue reading..
